LAMB, Janet Lamb

The family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Lila Janet Lamb (nee Lambert) of Tillsonburg on January 20, 2026 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital at 79 years of age. Predeceased by her loving husband John (2011). Janet will be dearly missed by her special friend Frank Enyedi. Janet is survived by the father of her children, David MacDonald. Supportive and caring mother to Heather MacDonald, David MacDonald and Jason Everett (Tina). Proud and loving grandmother to Mark (Jennifer), Burma, Andrew Creek (Alexis), Eric MacDonald, Brandon MacDonald, Sydney Malleck, Justin Everett and Tiffanie Everett. Great grandmother to Bryson, Colin and Weston. Sister to Jeanette Vanderhaeghe (the late Albert), Juanita Grabstas and her husband John. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, Baby MacDonald, her parents Bruce and Blanche (nee Hysert) Lambert, sisters Joanne Dennis and Jane Lambert.

Janet was a passionate reader, often buried in a book, exploring worlds beyond her own. Her love for literature was rivaled only by her passion for music. With determination and grace, she taught herself to play the piano, filling her home with the timeless melodies of Beethoven, among them her favourite, Moonlight Sonata. Her intellectual pursuits were balanced by a playful spirit, and Janet found joy in the challenge of Mahjong. Time was spent skillfully playing the game she loved. Her competitive nature was also evident in her unwavering support for the Toronto Blue Jays and she cheered them on with passion and enthusiasm.

Friends and relatives will be received by Janet’s family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday January 24,2026 from 10:00 am – 11:45 am. The Funeral Service for Janet will follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Ted Smith officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Courtland United Cemetery.
