LAMOND, Ken Lamond

Peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side, Ken Lamond passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the age of 72 after a brief illness, passing with strength and dignity.

Son of William (Bill) Lamond and the late Shirley Anne Lamond (née Smith). Forever remembered by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Lamond (née Quigley).

Proud father of Stephanie Kints (Darren) and David Lamond. Devoted grandfather of Dylan Kints (Destiny), Mercedes Kints (Harley), Jackson Kints, and Genevieve and Anindya.

Dear brother of Judy Lamond-Dawson (Arnie) and Douglas Lamond (Nancy). Brother-in-law of Brenda Mace (John) and Steven Quigley (Bertha). Loved by many nieces and nephews.

Ken was a good friend to Don, Tim, and Rob. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished his time at his “happy place” — his trailer at Mitchell’s Bay. He fished Lake Erie, Mitchell’s Bay, Moon River, French River, and Temagami. He also enjoyed hunting trips to Armstrong, White River, and Magnetewan.

A lifetime member of the Kent Clover Leaf Club and a proud Mason of Kent Lodge #274 in Blenheim, Ken also took great pride in his work as a Millwright and Head of Maintenance with the Thompson Family at the Mill in Blenheim for 35 years.

He loved his family, his friends, his work, and his travels—especially with Barb to the North or abroad. He adored time with his grandchildren and made every moment count.

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate care Ken received from Dr. Zeke and Shannon Milkovic, the doctors at LRCC, his community nurse Bobbi, CKHA staff, Dr. Mehdi, and the team at Chatham-Kent Hospice—especially Dr. Merotto.

Visitation will be held at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.
