LAMPLUGH, Maureen Lamplugh

It is with immense sadness that the family of Maureen Lamplugh announce her sudden passing, just 10 days after the loss of her beloved husband of 64 years, Joe.
A devoted mum to Steven (Celine Dasilva) and Ceri (Jason Mattiussi), she never tired of telling those willing to listen how fiercely proud she was of her children and grandchildren, Carleigh (fiancΓ©, Jon Miller), Adam, Kevin (fiancΓ©e, Kelly Brady), Ben and Maia. Each of us knew exactly how much she loved us because she took every opportunity to tell us how she felt.
Maureen’s life was one well lived. Born in Liverpool, UK, she immigrated to Canada in 1977 and enjoyed a life filled with travel, adventure and meaningful friendships that spanned decades. She treasured those friendships and appreciated the support they provided in her later years. She will be particularly missed by extended family members, including: the Bowers, Hale, Heney, Knowles, Malone, McGee and Vickers families. Also by her chosen-family, including: Elaine and Reg, Gaynor (Brian, Stan), Halliwell family, Mavis and Colin, Moira (Charlie) and Dot. The β€œgang” in Formby, UK was always in her heart as well as the friends she and Joe made in retirement in Wilmot Creek. They shared a lifetime of funny adventures with friends, many of which provided legendary stories that became family lore for all.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Thomas and Frances Vickers (nee Heney) and, as an only child, she cherished the lifelong, sibling-like relationships with her beloved cousins, Dennis. Eileen, Frances, Kitty and their families.
Maureen firmly believed she would be reunited with all those she had loved and lost. We hope her dream came true and that she’s singing and dancing and laughing with them all.
Cremation has taken place, with plans for a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.
