LANE, Terry Donald Lane
January 20, 2026
It is with deep and profound sadness that we share the passing of Terry in his 68th year.Β Terry was a devoted son to Mary and Don, best friend and loving husband to Heather for over 39 years, proudest dad to the light of his life, Jennifer (Euan) and dear brother-in-law to Debra (Will).
A friendship with Terry was a friendship for life. His unlimited kindness, generosity, and sense of humour touched everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family, countless childhood friends, McMaster university buddies, coworkers from Bell and CGI, and his dear friends in the βhoodβ who became family over the years. In recent times, weather permitting, his garage door would always be open, sports on the TV, and beer in the fridge. His loss will leave a hole in the hearts of all who knew him.Β Terryβs love of Bluegrass music was legendary. Playing guitar and mandolin brought him endless hours of joy. He particularly loved getting together with friends, whether playing in someoneβs basement or at community festivals.
Terry was also an avid genealogist, tracing not only his own roots, but eagerly helping anyone else who needed a hand with theirs.Β Terry enjoyed travelling, especially to warmer climes, and was able to enjoy the sunshine in many parts of the world. The gulf coast of Florida and Myrtle Beach were special favourites.
Many thanks to Terryβs oncology and radiation teams at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and the many wonderful, caring nurses and technicians in the DRCC and on floors C6 and G6.
Rested at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171).Β A celebration of life in Terryβs honour will be held at a later date.Β IntermentΒ Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.Β If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
