LASHINGTON, Stanford Elliston Lashington

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Stanford Elliston Lashington, affectionately known as “Daddy”. Stanford Lashington passed away on Saturday November 22nd, 2025 at the age of 92 years.

His mother Evelyn Bailey (father Tesbert) had 3 children – Stanford (Ruddy) Beryl (aunt Claire) and Brenton ( uncle Hopie).

Uncle Hopie and aunt Olive have 4 girls – Janice, Francine, Candace and Oprah.

Aunt Clair and uncle Guy had 4 children also- Ashton (Yvette), Steve (Lasmine), Roland and Rosie.

Stanford and his wife Joan also had 4 children:

Dr. Dean Lashington, Garfield Lashington, Kadian Lashington and Jovayne Lashington

These are Daddy’s pride and joy!

Stanford is pre deceased by his sister Beryl Lemonious (aunt Clare) and his brother Brenton Coley ( uncle Hopie).

From Manchester Jamaica, Stanford’s (Ruddy) extended family were educators. Almost everyone in his family line was a teacher or a ministry leader. They were gifted educators and religious.

Stanford was an ambitious, high achiever and a sharp dresser. He loved music especially calypso and reggae. He loved to dance.

His direct reports at the Asphalt Paving Company called him “Foey” short for foreman or supervisor.
Stanford was widely travelled and has lived in Canada with his wife Joan for many years.

Stanford was a supervisor/ manager of Asphalt Paving Company, Jamaica. He was also a “Jack of all trades” and could make and fix anything. A hard working, committed, loving, family man, friendly Stanford had many friends. Stanford was so kind that many of his wife’s family lived with his nuclear family (some for years).

The Thanksgiving Service for Stanford Lashington will be on Monday December 29th, 2025 at the Mississauga Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
