LAUTENSLAGER, Garry Gerald William Lautenslager

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather (Dick) Garry Gerald William Lautenslager on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Nithview Long Term Care at the age 81 years after a courageous battle with illness.

Garry will be deeply missed by his children Steve (Sue), Kevin (Kathy), Kim (Sam) and will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Justin, Evan, Kory, Jordan, Trevor, Cameron, Curtis, Maranda and Liam, as well as his seven great grandchildren. He will also be fondly remembered by his sisters Janice Dahl (Donald), Darlene Dahl, brother Dennisand by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Pearl, his siblings Marilyn LaFlamme (Jim), Sheila O’Neill (Victor), Ross, and Gordon, and his brothers-in-law Ralph Underwood, Mike Piskorski. Also predeceased by his daughter-in-law Kim Lautenslager, and nephews Brent Underwood and Peter O’Neill.

Garry dedicated nearly 40 years of his career to the New Dundee Creamery and later worked at Maple Leaf Foods until his retirement.

In his younger years he proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the New Dundee Fire Department. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams. Above all Garry cherished time with family and friends, and especially treasured the joy his grandkids brought to his life.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Nithview Home first floor staff for their love and compassionate care given to Garry in his final seven months.

Cremation has take place and Garry will be laid to rest in Fairmont Cemetery, Baden on October 20, 2025 at 11:00am.

As expressions of sympathy, donations would be accepted to Tri County Mennonite Homes or a charity of one’s choice.
