LEITE, Dionisio Leite

With heavy hearts the family of Dionisio (Dennis) Leite announce his passing on February 3, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia. Beloved husband of Maria Natalia Leite. Father of Sonia Pruliere, Carlos (Dianna) Leite, and Denisia (Bill) Miller. Beloved Vovo of Emily and Carter Pruliere. Brother of Armondo (Maria) Leite of Toronto and Rosalina (José) Carrelas of London. Son-in-law of the late Esmeria Pacheco. Brother-in-law of the late Dionisio (Delia) Medeiros, the late José Furtado, Dora Medeiros, and Fatima (Mario) Lima. Titi and Primos to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Born in São Miguel, Azores on February 7, 1948 to Francisco and Maria Leite. He married Maria Natalia (Medeiros) in 1972 and then he immigrated to Canada where he worked very hard to provide a better life for his family. They settled in Sarnia in 1975 where he started work with Local 1089 of the Labourers Union. He was a man of few words and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and serving his church at Our Lady of Mercy. The family would appreciate in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, or Bluewater Health Dialysis Unit. The family would like to thank all the staff at Bluewater Health Dialysis Unit and the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, as well as Dr. Crombeen, Dr. Kim, Dr. MacSweeney, and Dr. Weir. Family and friends will be received at SFH – McKenzie Blundy Chapel, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 390 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
