LEOMBRUNI , Teresa Leombruni

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Teresa, on August 9, 2025, at the age of 97. She will now be reunited with her husband, Pasquale (1994), her daughter-in-law, Arlene (2022), and all the deceased members of the Leombruni and Lucente families. Teresa emigrated to Canada from Pratola Peligna, Italy, in September 1960 with her young son Loreto, to be reunited with her husband Pasquale. Shortly thereafter, a second son was born that she called Luigi after her deceased father. Times were tough in those days, but there was always plenty of food, love, and affection for all.

Teresa will be greatly missed by her children Loreto (Eda DiBiase) and Luigi (Jacqueline), and was a much-loved Nonna to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored so much. They were her life. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Ludovico Leombruni of Hamilton and her sister-in-law Luciana Leombruni in Italy. She will be missed by her many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces in Canada, the United States, and Italy.

Mom loved her garden, and during the growing season, she never experienced any pains, but come November – look out. She loved to bake. She was renowned for her pizzelle, ceci ripieni, and her sponge cake that never stayed upright. No celebration was complete without having a slice of her rum-drenched leaning Tower of Pisa cake.

Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the staff at Villa Italia, and to the doctors and staff at St. Peter’s Palliative Care Unit 3E who looked after our mom on her last journey. A special thank you to her family doctor, Dr. Ross Allega, for his warmth and tenderness. To you Dottore, she says “Mille Grazie” and “look after my boys.”

Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Anthony of Padua Church would be kindly appreciated by the family.
