FRIEDAY, Leslie Anne ‘Le’Anne’ (Moyer) Frieday Obituary

FRIEDAY, Leslie Anne ‘Le’Anne’ (nee Moyer) – (October 2, 1951 – September 29, 2015) Passed away unexpectedly at home in Arnprior after a short battle with a rare illness, just shy of her 64th birthday.

Pre-deceased by her identical twin sister Lynne, her parents, Ralph E. Moyer and Vera L. Moyer, and her stepmother Isabelle. Loving wife of 42 years to Gregory Frieday. Much-loved sister to Linda (Steve) Avram, David (Hai Toh Lim), Andrew (Michelle), and Peter (Ella Platschick). Beloved step-sister to Michael Sabourin (Frannie) and Sharon (Terry) Mercer. Fond aunt of Leigh Moyer, Dayne Moyer, Jennifer Nachtigal, and Kaitlynn Nachtigal.

Le’Anne grew up all over Canada, as befits a child whose dad was in the air force. She graduated from Ottawa University in 1971, and went to work for the Canadian Nurses Association. Eventually she found her way to what was then known as the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, working in the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Library. After many dedicated years, she became the Director of Corporate Communications for the now renamed Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), retiring in June of 2011.

Well known for her unerring fashion sense as well as her great love for entertaining both at home and at the cottage and her passion for cooking which she passed on to all three brothers, she was also an avid golfer with her buddies “The Golf Gals”. When she wasn’t on the links, she and Greg liked nothing more than taking their boat anywhere there was water.
