LEVASSEUR, Honoré ‘Henry’ – Peacefully entered the portals to eternal life with grace, through Heaven’s Gate on Saturday July 5, 2025 at the age of 98. He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Gilberte ‘Jill’ Chaumont. Predeceased by his loving first wife of 54 years, Lilianne ‘Lily’ (2003). Dear father of Robert (Gay); grandfather of Joel, Rachel and Justin (Thea); great-grandfather to Damien; stepfather of Roger Chaumont (Madeleine), Lorraine Delorme and Suzzane Smith (fiancé Mark Joss); step-grandfather of Justin (Jennifer) and Jared McCarthy; step-great-grandfather of Sage and Reed.

Honoré was loved by all the grandchildren on Gilberte’s side of the family – they loved and cherished him so. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Romeo and Amanda (nee Champagne) LeVasseur, siblings Lorenzo, Lionel, Conrad, Ulric, Raoul, Helena, Solange, Thérèse, Alma, Ann-Marie, Stella, 4 siblings who died at birth or at an early age, as well as step-children Andre Chaumont and Carmene Germain.

Honoré was born in St. Norbert, Manitoba on January 16, 1927 and was a WWII RCAC Tank Corp Veteran. Prior to moving from Winnipeg to St. Catharines in 1956, Honoré worked for 10 years as a Tool and Die Maker for the Bristol Aircraft Company. He worked for 23 years at the Ford Glass Plant (Niagara) until his retirement and was the first Treasurer of C.A.W. Local 1054. He was also Past President of French Club de L’Amitie in St. Catharines.

A special thank you to Rev. Marcie Wakem for your kindness and friendship, and to the staff at the Linhaven and Exendicare Nursing Facilities for their caring and compassion. Cremation has taken place.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Graveside Service to be held Saturday July 19, 2025 at 11 am at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens (2250 Regional Road 20, Fonthill). Please gather at the Cemetery Office Parking Lot near the Green Building. In memory of Henry, memorial contributions may be made to the CNIB, and would be appreciated.
