
Linnell, Jeanne Isabel – passed away peacefully at Woodstock Hospital on Saturday, August 2, 2025 in her 96th year.
Beloved daughter of George and Sarah Linnell. Predeceased by her brother, Cameron S. Linnell (2019) and her sister-in-law, Jenny Linnell (2022).
Cherished Aunt to Greg Linnell (Kitchener) and Grant Linnell (London). Fondly remembered by Grant’s children, David, Julie and Rachel.
Jeanne’s kindliness encouraged her to welcome many that she met and to participate in the celebrations of her friends and their children.
She also enjoyed a keen interest in their lives and their achievements.
Born on May 23rd, 1930, Jeanne lived in Woodstock for her entire life, working at the Bank of Montreal for many years.
She was also a life-long member and participated in the ministries of Knox Presbyterian Church, assured of her salvation in Christ.
Jeanne also nurtured many interests – figure skating, local history, Beaver Scouts, travel, genealogy – and delighted in sharing those interests with others.
Friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Jeanne’s life at Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N. Woodstock, on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Visitation between 9:30 – 10:45 am. Funeral Service in the chapel at 11:00 am.
Light refreshments to be provided during the visiting hour. Internment to follow at Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
If desired, memorial contributions to World Vision, a charity through which Jeanne sponsored children for many years, would be appreciated.
