LOCKHART, Garry Lockhart

Passed away quietly on January 16, 2026, at the age of 85 years. Garry leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years, Mabel (nee: Myers). He was the son of Harry and Pearl (nee: Peters) Lockhart. Garry was the proud father of two sons, Jeffrey (Nancy) and Daniel (Emily). He was a loving Grandpa to his cherished granddaughter, Eleanor. Garry was a retired teacher beginning his career in Wallaceburg, ON. where he met and married the love of his life. He ended his lengthy career at Cardinal Carter Secondary School in Leamington, ON. Teaching was his vocation, but golf was his passion. He was club champion at Baldoon Golf Club, as well as Lakewood Golf Club in Windsor, ON. Garry enjoyed coaching and mentoring his students and sharing his skills with family and friends as well. Garry was a kind brother in-law to Wayne Halpert (Jude) and their family. He is survived by sister, Mona (Jim Courtenay) and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Garry is predeceased by siblings Beatrice, Gwen, Cheryl, Bonnie and Tom. Many thanks to Saint Elizabeth Health and Paramed PSW’s for their kind and caring services. As per Garry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
