LOCKHART, Rita Mary Lockhart

In Loving Memory of Rita Mary Lockhart (nee Geary)
With gratitude for her long and faith filled life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rita Mary Lockhart (née Geary), in her 92nd year She was deeply blessed by the loving example of her parents, George and Georgette (Beausoleil).

Born in Peterborough in 1934, Rita was the third of nine sisters. She built a beautiful life alongside her devoted husband, Glen (predeceased 2004), sharing more than 50 loving years together in Irondale, Ontario. Their home was rooted in her deep Roman Catholic faith and her love for family.
Rita was the proud and dearly loved mother of six children. Three who have predeceased her, and three who remain to carry on her memory. She was a cherished grandmother to eleven and a great grandmother to seven, each of whom brought her immense joy. Her family was her greatest treasure. She celebrated every milestone, shared her wisdom openly, and loved unconditionally. She also leaves behind two sisters and brothers in law, Georgette (Richard) and Denise (Robert), along with extended family and dear friends.

Affectionately known as “Bulldog Drummond” she was admired for her resilience, sharp spirit, and determination. Through every challenge, she faced life with courage, humour, and grace. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Victoria Manor for their exceptional care, compassion, and kindness.

Her legacy is one of love, a love that lives on through her family and will continue for generations. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. A Memorial Mass will be held at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kinmount on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 441 (upstairs), Kinmount.
