WOODS, Lorna Margaret Woods

WOODS, Lorna Margaret (née Wessell) Woods  –  Formerly of Newmarket, passed away on November 26, 2023, in Pembroke, Ontario, in her 97th year, Lorna was born on January 20, 1927, in Norland, Ontario, to Edward Wessell and Isabelle “Belle” (Dundas).

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Alan Woods; and also her brother, Robert Edwin Wessell.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Pam Harris) of Charlo, New Brunswick, Judy (Gary Dean), of Cobden, Ontario, and Paul (Kristen Woods) of Lewisville, Texas.

She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren!

Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.

She lived in Newmarket area for 45 years, and many of those years were spent as CEO of Newmarket Association for Community Living.

She had many wonderful friends. Three very special friends who caringly helped her at various times during her life in Newmarket were Linda Penley, Doreen Cheeseman and Audrey Wilcox.

Lorna is resting at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St., Newmarket, ON.

Visitation to take place on Monday, December 4th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Wednesday, December 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Cherry Valley Cemetery, Cherry Valley, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Newmarket SPCA, Lung Association or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
