Our hearts are heavy with sorrow, as we lay to rest our mother, nana, wife, sister, auntie; our friend.
Agnes Low passed peacefully at home on December 3, 2025, 11 days shy of her 100th birthday; surrounded by the family that cherished her. A native of Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland; Agnes journeyed to Canada in 1949 for a “wee holiday” that lasted 76 years.
A fascinating long and storied life followed. A saga worthy of the big screen or at the very least, a best selling novel. Agnes met and married Allan Low in 1952; an Oakville native whose parents were both from Scotland themselves. Through 52 years of love and laughter they raised 7 children who in turn blessed them with 18 grandchildren and further, 31 great grandchildren.
With Allan’s passing in 2004, Agnes was left to continue the role of mentor herself.
There was not a more loving, fair and supportive soul and Agnes gave to others unconditionally. An old soul with an eternal young heart! A little less light shines in the world today, but there is one more glorious star twinkling in the sky tonight. Agnes could have missed the pain but she would have missed the dance…
Go gently into the light precious one…Carry our love to those who have gone before you and we will see you on the other side – Godspeed
