LUKASIK, Murray John Lukasik

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather Murray Lukasik. Murray died on December 12th in his 88th year. He is survived by his adoring children Laura, Lynda, Leanne (Brian), and John (Benno), and his grandchildren Chloe and Caitlin. Murray is predeceased by his beloved wife and soul mate Jennette, and by his parents Michael Lukasik and Mary Wielgosz.

Murray was a crane operator in Dofasco’s No 1 Hot Mill for 35 years. A homebody at heart, he learned to love travelling with Jennette, and the two of them were able, over their lifetimes, to go on many incredible trips together and with family. In his retirement, Murray enjoyed cooking for Jennette during the remaining years of her career, and spent many summer days on their boat on Hamilton Harbour enjoying the laughter and love of family and good friends. Murray was a dedicated husband and father, and a fiercely determined human being who faced some daunting health challenges during his later life. He did it all with humour and kindness, always deeply appreciative of the support of his loved ones. He was always there for his family, challenging us all to be our best, and quietly and consistently supporting us when it mattered most. Life will never be the same without him, but he will live on in all of us. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the medical staff at the Juravinski Hospital ICU for the incredible care they provided during such a difficult time.

Cremation has taken place and a family graveside ceremony will take place when the warmer weather arrives in 2026.

For those wanting to honour Murray’s memory, donations to De Mazenod Door Outreach at St. Patrick’s Church would be appreciated.
