Charles Alson MacDermid passed away on April 10, 2025 at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Charles was born on June 27, 1942 in Cape Breton, NS to parents Kenneth and Louise (Lewis) MacDermid. He was a retired RCMP officer and later worked as an investigator for the Toronto Stock Exchange. In retirement, he worked in recruitment for the RCMP.

Charles was a past president of the Lions Club in Dunchurch Whitestone Township and was awarded senior citizen of the year in Dunchurch Whitestone Township. Additionally, Charles loved to golf and curl.

Charles was the cherished spouse of Ann (Sullivan) MacDermid. Loving father of Kenzie (Lynda), Kelly (Joanna), and Jason (Lisa). Dear grandfather of Liam and Cameron, Hannah, Ryan, and Ella, Rebecca and Lauren, Meghan and Ella. Great-Grandfather of Declan.

Charles will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Beaverton Legion, 517 Mara Rd. Beaverton, on April 29th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
