MACDONALD, Francis Vree MacDonald

Husband and best friend to Kathy, a loving and devoted Dad to Tara (Laura), Trevor (Gillian), Melanie (Paul), and Philip (Jesse), was a treasured and fun-loving Grandpa and Papa to his beloved grandchildren Owen, Gracie, Sophia, Jack & Dylan and fondly remembered by his brother Roy and sister Bernice (BC). Von is predeceased by his parents Roy and Clara MacDonald (NS).

Von was born and raised in Nova Scotia, however, his early years led him to BC where he spent some time working in the lumber industry. Later, he ended up in Ontario where he spent his adult life working in sales in the photographic industry. From there, his retirement years brought him to his favourite place, Campbellford, Ontario, where he enjoyed country life to the fullest.

Von will be fondly remembered by his many friends. He enjoyed talking with his snow shoveling and truck buddies and connecting with his extended family. Von was someone you could always count on for a chat, some advice or a helping hand. Above all, Von was devoted to his family, always there when he was needed – steady, kind and full of warmth. The laughter, tears and love shared during his final days will carry on forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Lung Cancer Society or Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, located at 847 King Street West, Oshawa, ON, L1J 2L4, Canada, on January 24, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
