MACDONALD, Jacqueline Lorraine MacDonald
February 5, 1941 - November 11, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Jacqueline, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Lakeridge Health, Ajax. Born February 5, 1941, in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Jacqueline was the daughter of the late Margaret and Jack MacPhee. She married her husband Hughie (predeceased) and they had 3 children, Doug and Roddy MacDonald and Kelly Biduke.
The family moved to Toronto in 1962 after the coal mine closed. She was a brilliant student in school and chose to remain at home, raising her children. She spent countless hours supporting her sons’ boxing careers and her daughter’s (and Kelly’s girls) Highland Dancing career. Jacqueline was a pillar of strength to her entire family. She was the person who always kept in touch with everyone and certainly had the gift of the gab. The last 3 years, she struggled with the horrible diagnosis of dementia. We are very thankful for those family members who chose to remain a constant in her life. She knew you came to see her and was very aware right until the end. You are so blessed to have had that time with her. Predeceased in death by her parents and husband Hughie (2005), she also lost her beloved brother Doug in 2022. She leaves behind her 3 children as well as 11 grandchildren, Keegan, Jesse, Cody, Kaleigh and Cheyenne Biduke, JH, Jake and Sara MacDonald, Nicole, Ian and Neil MacDonald. She had 11 great-grandchildren with the 12th arriving in December. Gabriella and Nico will certainly miss their visits to the nursing home to see Gigi. She will be fondly remembered by numerous relatives in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. Special thanks to the staff of Abbeylawn Retirement Home and Lakeridge Health, Ajax.
Condolences must go out to “The Weeknd”, as she was his greatest fan!
Visitation will be Monday, November 17, 1:30 – 2:30, with the funeral following at 2:30 at the Oshawa Funeral Service, 847 King St W, Oshawa, ON. L1J 2L4. A private family burial will take place Tuesday morning. Donations made in memory of Jacqueline to the Canadian Institute for the Blind or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

We are so blessed to have been raised by one”.
