MACKINNON, Kathleen Anne MacKinnon

Passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 79 in Lakeridge Health, Oshawa with her cherished husband Don MacKinnon and her family by her side. Born on March 11, 1946, in Western Bay Newfoundland, she was the beloved daughter of Vera and Graham Butt. Kathy was the second oldest of four siblings, Rhoda, Adrian and Stephen who she loved dearly. Kathy and her family arrived in Toronto Ontario when she was very young and Toronto remained her home. She was a loving wife to Don Mackinnon, and they built their life together in Oshawa, Ontario. She loved her husband and admired him deeply, their bond was one of the greatest joys of her life. Kathy lived life to the fullest and especially loved her family, friends, pups and crafts. Kathy also had a love for nature and treasured time spent with friends. She cared for her dog Molly with all her heart and had the sweetest love for animals. Kathy was a very generous, caring person who always helped anyone she could. She was truly talented at crafts and sewing, creating things was an important part of her life. It brought her joy, and her crafts were a little piece of who she was. One of Kathy’s superpowers was her wonderful sense of humour that will never be forgotten. She is survived by her husband Don, brother Stephen (Lida), Sister-in-law Kathy, nieces and nephews Mary (Raf), Ashley (Shaun), John, Justin and her great niece and nephew Lauren and Christian. Kathy will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Columbus Community United Church, 3285 Simcoe St N., Oshawa on Sunday November 30, 2025 for visitation from 12 noon until time of service at 2 pm.
