MACMILLAN, Daniel William MacMillan

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel (Dannie) William MacMillan, who left us on June 28, 2025, at the age of 71, at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines, Ontario, with his family by his side.

Born in Johnstown, Nova Scotia, Dannie was the youngest of seven children to Roderick and Isabel MacMillan. He ventured to Ontario early in life where he built a loving home with his wife and best friend of 40 years, Debbie. Known for his unmatched work ethic, he returned to school at 50 to become a Truck Trailer Mechanic, graduating top of his class.

Dannie was a man of quiet strength, kind spirit, and unwavering generosity. He loved strumming his guitar, working on mechanical projects, and relaxing with a cold Labatt Blue. He will be remembered for his humour, resilience, and deep love for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Debbie, children Clayton, Roxanne (Matt), Terrilynn (Connor), and Danielle (Ryan), and his cherished granddaughter, Taryn. Also survived by his siblings Trudy, Edie, Florence (Frankie), Kay (Tom), and Roddie (Brenda), and many extended relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, sister Mary (Barry), and brothers-in-law Melvin and Ray.

A Celebration of Life will take place:

Saturday, July 26, 2025 — 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. — St. Catharines (private residence, contact family for address).

Saturday, September 20, 2025 — 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. — Johnstown Parish Hall, Nova Scotia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dannie’s memory are encouraged to Walker Family Cancer Centre – Niagara Health Foundation or Hospice Niagara.
