It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Liz) Carol MacMillan, beloved wife of Ian MacMillan. Liz passed away on May 2, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario.

Liz was born on December 21, 1961 in Toronto, Ontario, the youngest of 5 daughters to Ronald and Ruth Miller. She was raised in the Parkdale-High Park area of Toronto until 1974, at which time the family relocated to Beaverton, Ontario. Liz completed her schooling in the Beaverton area, then moved to Kitchener and then Burlington. Soon after, Liz met the love of her life, Ian MacMillan, and they were married in 1987. Throughout their married life they lived in Hamilton, Ontario.

Liz was an accomplished hair stylist, owning her own salon in Burlington for many years. Following that, she trained in and enjoyed floral design, chef school, and office administration. Liz excelled in everything she put her hand to. She was a kind friend to all, often going the second mile. Liz extended her generosity and openness of heart to everyone in need. She loved nature and spent as much time as she could each year at her camp in the Goulais Bay area.

Liz’s faith in God was rich and deep, and she possessed strength of character and resilience. She fought the fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Liz is survived by her devoted husband Ian MacMillan; 4 sisters Linda (Gary) Cooper, Brenda (Allan) Bousfield, Ruth (Brent) Reilly, Debbie (Jim) Sullivan; stepmother Earla Miller; sister-in-law Moira (Gary) Mans; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents.
