MAHON, Lois Mahon

She was called home to be with our Lord and Saviour from her residence on April 8, 2026. Born in Meaford on January 7, 1937, Lois Marie Mahon (nee Benedict) of Owen Sound, was in her 90th year.

Beloved wife of the late George Mahon. Loving mother of Gary Mahon (Kim), Paul Mahon (Shawna) and Karen Shular (Dennis) all of Owen Sound. Cherished grandma of Lexy (Jeremy), Regan (Joseph), and Jordan (Madison). Lois will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Roy and Alice (nee MacLean) Benedict, siblings Frank Benedict (June), Robert Benedict (Eleanor), and Eleanor Spence (Lloyd), and sister-in-law Reta Richards (Larry).

Lois found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, and could often be found tending to her gardens, partaking in various sewing projects and caring for her beloved cats over the years. She loved nothing better than a competitive game of euchre and the calming art of quilting, pouring love into every stitch. Lois was also very fond of watching her granddaughters play various sports and spending her summers cheering on the Blue Jays.

Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Tuesday April 14, 2026, from 6 – 8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Lois’s life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday April 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, a recorded version will be posted online. Interment will take place in Annan Cemetery at a later date.
