COWAN, Margaret  –

July 17, 1937 – March 23, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Marg) Cowan (née Calder) who left us peacefully, surrounded by her family on March 23, 2024.

Marg will be forever missed by her husband, Ray; her children, Lynn (Danny), Lisa (Brad) and Boyd (Sarah); her grandchildren, Josh, Lauren (Kyle), Rebecca (Andrea), Spencer (Jess), Victoria and Connor; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, Blake, and Luke.

Marg was predeceased by her siblings, George and Cathy; and leaves behind her brother, Dave; brothers-in-law, Paul (Linda) and Brian (Linda); along with many nieces and nephews who she loved and cared for deeply.

Marg was born on July 17, 1937, and married the love of her life, Ray, on March 15, 1958. Marg passed with Ray at her side, holding her hand as he had done so many times in their 66 years of marriage.

The family would like to thank the amazing, caring staff at Woods Park Care Centre, where Marg lived for the past two years. You are amazing people. She loved you all and would often speak of the wonderful care she received and the friendships she made during her time there. Thanks also go out to the compassionate staff at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie who cared for Marg in her final days. You will all forever hold a special place in the hearts of Marg’s family.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
