van DRIEL, Marinus (Mike) –   Passed away peacefully at Taunton Mills Nursing Home on October 7, 2015 at the age of 89.

He was predeceased earlier this year by his loving wife of 63 years, Fien.

Cherished father of Engelina (Jim) and Theo (Judy). Opa will be sadly missed by grandchildren Claire and Maeve.

Marinus is survived by his brother Adrie and predeceased by his sister and two other brothers.

Marinus was born in the Netherlands January 26, 1926 and immigrated to Canada with Fien in 1961.

Marinus was retired from General Motors after having worked there for 30 years.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at the Taunton Mills Nursing Home.

At Marinus’s request cremation will take place and there will be no funeral services.
