MATTHEWS, Marjorie (HUGHES) (nee Parker) – Marjorie passed peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, at the age of 86 with her much loved daughter Brenda and son-in-law Bruce Stewart at her side. 

She was predeceased by her husband Harry Hughes in 1982 and her husband Morris Matthews in 1999.

Marjorie was born in Niagara Falls in 1929 to Maggie and Fred Parker and was predeceased by her brother Herbert (Bert).

She attended local schools and worked as a secretary in local offices. Later she returned to her love of music and taught piano for many years.

She loved to sew, travel and play bridge and enjoyed being with her friends. 

She wished to join her church family of 68 years to celebrate her life and faith at St. John the Evangelist Church, 3428 Portage Road, Niagara Falls on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10-11 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Those who wish may make a memorial donation to either the Church of St. John the Evangelist or to the Salvation Army.

Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
