WALKER, Marketta (nee KERANEN)   –

May 1, 1951 – July 29, 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marketta, on July 29, 2023, in Markham, Ontario.

She is survived by her daughter, Christina (Paul); her grandson, Tyler; and great-grandson, Xavier. She is also survived by sisters, Liisa (late Kenneth), Elizabeth (Jerzy), and Kristiina (Barry).

Marketta was predeceased by her parents, Taisto and Ellen Keranen; her late husband, Alexander “Al”; and her late son, Alex Jr. Marketta will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who was devoted to family and friends and loved every moment she spent with them.

Marketta will also be remembered for her award-winning love of gardening and nature.

A gathering will be held between 6-8 p.m., at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, L4J 1W3, on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
