MARTEL, Denise Martel
February 3, 2026
Denise was known by so many for her contagious smile, her unwavering work ethic, and her strong will that carried her through life with quiet determination. She was truly the rock—the steady force who held everyone together, even when times were difficult. Denise had a rare gift for loving deeply and unconditionally. She always wanted the very best for others and never hesitated to show up, help out, or lend a listening ear.
Family meant everything to Denise. She poured her heart into being a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. Her love will continue to live on through the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the countless lives she forever changed.
Denise had a deep love for cooking and feeding the people she loved. She and her sisters and friends proudly worked together in Gisele’s catering business, sharing laughter, stories, and countless meals along the way. Sunday mornings were often filled with the comforting smell of bacon and eggs, and dinner was always just as yummy—made with love and care.
Denise also had a great love for music. She loved to sing with family and friends while her husband and siblings played guitar and harmonica, creating moments that were filled with joy, togetherness, and lasting memories.
Professionally, Denise dedicated her career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) at Extendicare, where her compassion, patience, and strong work ethic touched the lives of many residents and coworkers.
Denise had a special love for bingo, a pastime that brought her great joy, laughter, and connection with others. In her memory, bingo will be played at her celebration of life. She also shared a deep love for the camp she and her husband built—a place filled with peace, stories, and cherished moments that will remain forever close to the hearts of those who loved her.
Denise is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Mike Martel (1960–2025), her eldest sister Jean, and her mother Emerentienne.
She leaves behind her loving children: Richard Martel (Joan) and Alain Martel (Kelly).
