MARKOFF, Mary Rose (nee JONES) –  1925 – 2015  Rosie finally got away.

She was trying to tell us she had another party to attend and that Alec was anxiously awaiting her arrival.

In sixty-seven years of marriage they had rarely been apart.

Four months is a long time.

She did not want to be late.

We gave her our love and wished her a safe journey knowing she was anxious to get going, but also knowing we would miss this bright, independent, compassionate, funny woman who played such an important role in all our lives.Known as Nana or Nana Rose to her beloved grandchildren, Mary Rose Markoff leaves a legacy of love that will flow through the generations.Her children Rosemarie, Michael and Karen along with her sisters Edith, Elizabeth, Frances, Margaret and Sharon stand and salute as this proud, former RCAF member marches past, in her final parade.Rose was predeceased by her daughter Kathy and her brother Victor and her love, Alec.

The family is deeply grateful to Lee Robertson Baker who provided outstanding personal care for Rose in her final months.

Thank you also to the 9th floor nursing staff at University Hospital London for their gentle and attentive medical care.

A family celebration of Rose Markoff’s life will be held at a later date.
