MASTERMAN, Morris Hugh Masterman

March 12, 1937 - September 30, 2025
MASTERMAN, Morris Hugh Masterman

Peacefully, on September 30, 2025, surrounded by his family at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Patricia Masterman (née Grant) of 65 years. Proud father of his late son Devin, and his daughter Stacey Krol (Andrew), and a devoted grandfather to Cody, Parker (Allison Bonnar), and Shana Krol.
Morris was born and raised in Wales, one of the communities now remembered as part of the Lost Villages in the St. Lawrence Seaway. It was in those early years that he met the love of his life, Patricia, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
A true outdoorsman, Morris found peace and happiness on the water. He spent countless hours boating, fishing, and building with his own two hands – crafting boats and many other projects that reflected his resourcefulness and creativity. He treasured the memories he made while working with his Bell Canada family for 36 years, alongside the love of his life and his best friends. He never missed an opportunity to share a story or a laugh, always ready with a joke that brightened the day of those around him.
Morris had many titles – husband, dad, uncle, Moe… but by far the most important one was being called grandpa. His face always lit up with joy when talking about his grandchildren, and he would talk about them with anyone who would listen.
Above all, Morris will be remembered for his warmth, his humour, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence was a steady source of joy, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Morris is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Masterman (nee Henry), his sister Anne Mills, and nephew Michael Mills. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, Lezlie Strasser and Susan Blanchard, and all of his family and friends.
The family will receive visitors at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, on Wednesday, October 8th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and again on the morning of Thursday, October 9th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
A chapel service will follow at 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place, with interment to follow at Saint Lawrence Valley Cemetery in Ingleside.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Morris’ memory to Cornwall Community Hospital foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
