Passed away at home on Friday, October 3, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley and their children Robert, Melissa (Rob), Jodi and Kathryn (Dave). Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Chloe, Christopher and Alex and great-grandfather of Wesley. Predeceased by his parents, Mahlin and Lena and his sister Frances Burns. He will be dearly missed by his sister Jean (Fred) Mitchell and his nephews. Jim was born at the Sutton Private Hospital and raised on the family farm in Pefferlaw where he died. He was a farmer and worked 30 years at General Motors, retiring in 1997. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Mangan Funeral Home, 332 Osborne Street, Beaverton. A Memorial Mass will take place the following day, Thursday, October 9th, at 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 28118 Hwy. 48, Virginia with interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church or a charity of your choice
