Heartfelt Canadian Obituary of Primo Mattachini

With great sadness our family announces the peaceful passing of our father Primo at the age of 96 on Saturday September 20, 2025 at Margaret’s Place Hospice in Dundas. Beloved husband of the late Bernice (2015). Devoted and loving father to Bob (Sara), Terri, Paul and Brian. Cherished grandfather to Chris (Sofia), Steve and great grandson Cesio. Predeceased by his parents Natalina and Emidio Mattachini and father-in-law Walter Dombroski. He will be sadly missed by his sister Angie Jaczenko (the late Jim). Predeceased by his brother Vito (the late Marg). He will be deeply missed by Eleanor Petrovsky (the late Ed) and family, as well as Patti and David Gilkes. Primo will be fondly remembered by his nephews (spouses), cousins, friends and neighbours.

Primo was a kind and gentle man who deeply cared about his family and friends. He worked as a pressman for Reid Dominion (Press) for 38 years. Primo was an avid sports enthusiast and loved the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. He bowled for several years at the Brightside Bowling League. Primo was also passionate about golfing.

Special thank you to Dr. Canning, Dr. T. Woo ( Cognitive Specialist at St. Peter’s Hospital) and their staff for their excellent care and support for Primo over the years. Our sincere gratitude to Margaret’s Place Hospice in Dundas for their kind and compassionate care of Primo and our family.  We would also like to thank Bayshore and nurse Erin, and lastly, our thanks to Heart to Home Meals.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Margaret’s Place Hospice, Dundas would be appreciated by Primo’s family.
