WEST, Maureen West Obituary

WEST, Maureen – (1931-2015) – It is with sadness that Maureen’s family announce her passing on December 25, 2015.

She was the dearly loved wife, friend and soulmate of her late husband Vernon (1925-2011) for 61 years.

Survived by her three children Graham (Trish), Elizabeth (Doug Dawe) and Russell (Natalie Peachy) and five wonderful grandchildren, Samantha West, Kristine Phelan (Ryan), Brian West (Emily), Katrina Haucke (Matthew) and Stephanie Medwenitsch.

Maureen adored her five sweet great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Teagan, Liam Phelan, Brooklyn and Hunter West.

Predeceased by her son Clive (1956-2013) and her brothers Anthony Barge of Sydney, Australia and Patrick Barge of Bridgetown, Western Australia.

Survived by her brother Gerald Barge of Exminster, England.

Maureen’s life was full of love and laughter and her family meant the whole world to her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Saint Vincent’s hospital for the excellent care given to Maureen. Special thanks to Valerie McWilliams for her extra warm heart and compassion.

A celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, Friday January 8, 2016 at 2pm at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario. Reception to follow.

In Lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or Saint Vincent’s Hospital would be appreciated.
