MAVINS, Valerie Anne Theresa Maureen Mavins
November 1, 1942 - December 3, 2025
Valerie Ann Theresa Maureen Mavins, 83, of Victoria, BC, passed away suddenly, surrounded by loved ones on December 3, 2025, after medical complications finally took their toll.
Valerie was born in Carshalton, England, during the height of WW2, on November 1, 1942, to William OβSullivan and Ethel Dardis OβSullivan.
She moved to Montreal with her family right after WW2 and made Canada her home country the rest of her life.
Valerie grew up into a beautiful woman who absolutely loved life, right up to the very end. She traveled the world, participated in many sports from scuba diving in Spain to Skiing in the Rockies, loved to dance, listen to music, and always got involved with the local community and neighborhood in every place she lived. But her 2 biggest passions in life were her family and anything to do with food, eventually developing into a gourmet chef. She was fearless when it came to exploring food recipes and was always so happy presenting incredibly delicious meals to family and friends.
Valerie was one of the most positive people out there, never complaining about the various health issues that plagued her during the latter years. In fact, she was so full of life, that her sudden passing left all of us shocked and in disbelief. We will miss her terribly.
Valerie was predeceased by her father and mother, and her brother Bill and sister Julie.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Mavins, her sister Carol, her brother Clifford, her two children Christopher (husband of Beth) and Kathleen (wife of Pierre), and 5 grandchildren, Cassandra, Rachel, Rebecca, Valerie and Madison.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
