It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth Arthur Mayrand, on November 20, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 27, 1944, in Windsor, Ontario Kenneth was the proud son of Lawrence and Rita Mayrand (nee Parent). He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Florence Mayrand (Nee Pitre), whose memory he cherished dearly. He is also predeceased by his in-laws Norman and Blanche Pitre. Kenneth is survived by his devoted children, Todd (Kellie), Brian, and Scott (Gina Lambrose), along with his cherished grandchildren: Nolan, Matthew, Chad, Haley, and Trevor. His family was his pride and joy, and he took great delight in watching his grandchildren’s endeavors, supporting them in every step of their journeys. Kenneth shared a close bond with his siblings: Beverly (Martin (D)), Jeanne (Don), and Louise (Cliff), and held dear to his heart numerous nieces and nephews. He was also blessed with lifelong friendships, particularly with Gaetane and Tony Menard, who were like family to him. Kenneth’s warm spirit and kind heart endeared him to many families and friends in the McQuaby Lake community, the Town of Tecumseh, and along Shawnee Road. For 40 years, Kenneth dedicated himself to his work at Chrysler Canada. He was a devoted hockey coach, nurturing the skills and passion of many young athletes in Tecumseh. He was a 30 year member of the Friday Knights Hockey Club. His love for fishing and backyard bird watching provided him with joy and tranquility. Those who knew him often recalled his playful nature as a practical joker, a reflection of his big-hearted character that lit up the lives of those around him. Kenneth and Florence shared a beautiful marriage of 57 years, having tied the knot on October 8, 1966. Their love for each other was evident to all, showcasing the essence of partnership, support, and mutual respect. Kenneth’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends. The Family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Extendicare Tecumseh for their support and compassion during Kenneth’s stay. A visitation will be held November 27, 2025 at Windsor Chapel Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor, ON) from 2 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm and then continuing the next day, November 28, 2025 from 12 pm – 1 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 1 pm. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will occur at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery following the ceremony. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation
