In Loving Memory of Danny McFadden

We are heartbroken to share that Danny McFadden passed away suddenly on September 20, 2025.

Danny will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Collette (née McGriskin); his children Ian (Shannon), Carolann (Shane), and Krista (James); and his cherished grandchildren Caitlin, Joe, Brendan, Emily, Ashley, June, and Madilynn.

Born in Alliston, Ontario, to Marion (née Runnall) and Merwood McFadden, Danny was the beloved brother of Dorothy (Cecil), Richard (Dale), Gail (Wayne), Paul (Melaney), and Greg (Paula).

His love of hockey began in Beeton and continued after moving to Sunderland. He stayed near family despite U.S. colleges showing interest in his hockey skills, continuing to play with longtime Sunderland teammates well into his adulthood.

Danny was an accomplished farmer, Holstein breeder, and international dairy cattle judge—known for his love of cows and respected for his work ethic. Alongside Collette, he expanded the family farm from 30 to 60 milking cows and doubled the acreage, investing in genetics along the way. Their dedication was recognized with the Holstein Canada Master Breeder Shield in 2004.

In retirement, he loved sharing laughter with friends and family while enjoying golf, cards, and shuffleboard. Danny and Collette spent their summers at the farm in Sunderland and the cottage in Coe Hill and their winters in beautiful Fairway Village in Florida.

Above all, Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help whenever he was needed.

We are grateful for the years we had with Danny. His quiet strength, good humour, helping hands and infectious smile will not be forgotten by all who knew him.
