We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Michael Thomas McBride on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and son. Mike was 64 years old.

Beloved husband of Judy, devoted father to Derek, and loving uncle to Kaity (Josh). He will be missed by brother-in-law Brian (Denise), and his loyal chocolate lab, Hershey.

Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Mike was the son of the late Wilma and Bill McBride. He was educated in Scarborough and spent 30 years serving as a Correctional Officer at Toronto East and Quinte Detention Centres.

Mike had many interests and passions—his family, his dog, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, hunting, fishing, real country music, and antiques. He was especially known in the Kingston region for his role in the collectibles market.

Mike and Judy were married in May 1994, sharing a love-filled life for 31 years and 10 days. The pride of his life was his son, Derek, whom he adored.
