McCALLUM, James Milton Leo McCallum

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Leo McCallum at home, surrounded by his family, on June 5, 2025, in his 95th year.

Leo was the beloved son of the late Lila Hunt and John McCallum, and was predeceased by his siblings: “DJ” Duncan (Grace), Glen (Faith), Malcolm (Greta and Genny), Delmar (Arlene and Nancy), and Noreen (Steve McGregor).

Leo was the beloved husband of the late Gwenyth Stewart and for the last 17 years, to Anna Burwell. He is survived by his children, Rick (Sharon) McCallum and Valerie (Don Copeland), as well as his grandchildren: Jason (Bobbi), Garrett, and Dr. Keeley Copeland, and step-grandchildren: Cal (Casey), Chad (Jen), and Janine. Leo is also survived by great-grandchildren Ryder, Piper, Hope, Robyn, Rickson, India, Cayden, Lilyanna, and Freya.

Leo worked for Ontario Hydro in Forestry for 36 years in various locations and positions, retiring in 1986 as Forestry Manager in the Cobden area. After retiring, he farmed his homestead on McCallum Drive until moving into the town of Renfrew.

A true gentleman, Leo loved his family, enjoyed playing golf and curling, and spent many winters in Daytona Beach.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lochwinnoch Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. This will be followed by inurnment at Goshen Cemetery, and a celebration of life reception at the church hall. All are invited to attend.
