MCCLELLAN, Sheryl Nelda McClellan

A woman of remarkable spirit and fierce independence, passed away at the age of 82. A longtime resident of Bowmanville, Sheryl was a fixture in her community, known for her sharp mind and her unwavering devotion to the people and pastimes she loved.

Sheryl’s life was defined by her connections and her strong work ethic. For many years, she was a dedicated and highly respected employee of Ontario Power Generation (OPG), where she was known for her professionalism and the lasting impact she made on her colleagues.

Beyond her professional life, Sheryl was a mainstay at her church and the local older adults club, where she found both friendship and purpose. Her hands were rarely still, often busy with the intricate art of embroidery, a craft she mastered with patience and precision.

Throughout her life, Sheryl was a profound lover of dogs; she held a deep affection for her canine companions over the years and advocated for the joy they brought into the world. When she wasn’t tending to her community or her crafts, she was a passionate supporter of her Canadian hockey teams, a hobby that perfectly matched her spirited and energetic personality.

Above all, Sheryl’s heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her three sisters, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and a lifetime of memories. Her legacy of strength, her love for her “Great White North,” and her independent soul will be deeply missed by her family, her neighbors, and all who knew her.
