MCCLUGHAN, Albert “Al” McClughan
October 4, 1948 - February 20, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Albert “Al” McClughan announces his peaceful passing on February 20, 2026.
Al was the beloved husband of Suzette for 50 years and a devoted father to his daughters, Chantal (Cam) and Nicole. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Carter, Rachelle, Kate, and Bennett, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Born in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, Al immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of six, where he built a full and meaningful life. He was a respected Mechanical Engineer and Manager with RBH, known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and quiet dedication. Those who worked alongside him valued his calm nature and thoughtful approach.
Al had a deep love for travel and adventure, especially exploring the open road in his RV. Some of his happiest moments were spent journeying to remote destinations throughout Canada, Mexico, and California, embracing the beauty of the landscapes and the freedom of the road. He will be dearly missed by his brothers, Adrian (Cindi) and Trevor (Candy), as well as by his extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 27th from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at the Erin Legion. In honour of Al’s laid-back nature and love of a good pair of jeans, guests are invited to dress in whatever makes them most comfortable. Please note that the Legion bar operates on a cash basis.
Al will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his gentle strength, and the many memories created through a life well lived and generously shared.
