MCCRADY, Earl McCrady
December 19, 1939 - February 9, 2026He was born Dec 19, 1939, and passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. He was the eldest of three children and grew up with a strong sense of responsibility, dedication, and attachment to family and place; values that guided him throughout his life.
At the age of 18, Earl began his professional career with the Toronto-Dominion Bank in Gananoque. Through diligence and commitment, he advanced within the branch system and was transferred to Belleville, Kingston, Brampton, and Hamilton. Despite his success in banking, Earl never lost his connection to the land. In 1970, he made the deliberate decision to return to his beloved family farm on Eden Grove Road, where he proudly embraced the life of a dairy farmer. Farming was not simply an occupation for Earl, but a calling.
Earl had a lifelong love for animals, particularly his dogs and cats, who were constant companions on the farm. He was an active and valued member of the Lansdowne Agricultural Society and the Lansdowne Lions Club, contributing his time and commitment to both agricultural and community service initiatives. He loved traveling North America in his mobile home and after retiring from farming, spent many cherished moments traveling with Pauline.
Earl was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Dora McCrady, and by his sisters Marilyn (Walter) Humphrey and Joan (Ron) Rombough.
He will be lovingly remembered by his special friend, Pauline Spies; his niece and nephew, Cleat (Krista) Humphrey and Pamela (Raymond) Shea; his great-nieces, Dr. Kaela (Justin) Shea, Bronwyn Shea, Brianna (Matthew) Wellington, and Bailey Humphrey; and his great-niece and great-nephew, Lepha and Eldon Wellington.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday March 1st at Barclay’s Funeral Home, 1033 Prince St. Lansdowne, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories in honour of Earl’s life. Messages of condolence may be sent online at www.barclayfuneralhome.com
