MCDIARMID , Carolyn Suzanne Rokosh McDiarmid

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at sunset, surrounded by loved ones, our beloved Carolyn passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital. She was in her eightieth year. Carolyn will be deeply missed by David, her husband of 50 years, her daughter Nicole, son Nathan, daughter-in-law Dawn, sister Marsha Ahrens (Ken), her nephew Kevin, nieces Kelly (Roger) and Coreen (Jerome), their families and Carolyn’s extended family. She was predeceased by her father Russell McDiarmid and her mother Margaret McDiarmid (née Dutton).

Carolyn was born in Ingersoll and grew up in Hamilton. In 1968, Carolyn graduated from the University of Toronto in Physical and Occupational Therapy. Her physiotherapy career spanned over 40 years, caring for patients in both hospital and home care settings.

Her wonderful spirit touched many people. Carolyn was a founding member of the Central Burlington Women’s Probus Club, a volunteer for Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and Food for Life. She was an avid Bridge player, curled at the Burlington Curling Club, and loved sports of all kinds. She was a lover of music, theater, and was a long-time supporter of the Burlington Teen Tour Band. As a young adult, she embarked on a world voyage, and continued to travel extensively throughout her life. She loved her family, friends, gardening, animals, sunsets and swans. Carolyn will be sorely missed by her many friends, whom she touched by her generous spirit.
