MCLELLAN, Carl McLellan

In the early morning hours of January 2nd, 2026 Carl passed away peacefully at the Rocky Mountain House Health Center, in Rocky Mountain House, AB, at the age of 80.
Carl had a stroke in early December and lost his battle a month later, passing surrounded by both family and friends.
Carl was born in Smiths Falls, ON to Roy and Gladys (McNeely) McLellan and grew up around Franktown, ON. Carl went to high school in Almonte, ON where he took carpentry, which eventually led to his adventures in the Northwest Territories, landing a dream job with the government.
After nearly 40 years in the North, Carl finally decided to retire at 67 and move South in 2013 to a beautiful ranch 30 minutes outside of Rocky Mountain House, AB with his wife Jessie.
Carl was fond of the outdoors and all it had to offer, he was always good for a laugh. He had a nickname for everything, a tall tale or story to share, he loved to torment people (lovingly of course) and if it wasn’t 10 times goodbye, it wasn’t a proper phone call.
Carl will be dearly missed by both family and friends from near and far. And also by those he crossed paths with in his lifetime along the way, offering his help and advice.
Carl is predeceased by both his parents and 3 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Jessie (Otokiak) McLellan, older brother Gary (Lynn) McLellan and younger brother Dennis (Faye) McLellan.
Children: Raymond (Liana) Rotzal, Angie Rotzal, Jennifer (Jimmy) Okhina, Lawrence (Lisa) Otokiak, Mellissa McLellan. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.

Inurnment in the summer of 2026 beside his parents at United Cemeteries, Carleton Place and a celebration of  life to be held in the Carleton Place area  (Place, date  and time to be finalized).
