MCMANUS, Elsie Christina McManus
February 23, 1940 - January 9, 2026
Born in North Vancouver and raised in West Vancouver, Elsie was with family when she died peacefully at The North Shore Hospice.
Predeceased by her beloved parents – Gilbert and Alice and much her loved brother Dick.
Survived by sister Kathy (David), sister-in-law Louise, nieces Holly (Ted), Gillian (David), great nephew, Andrew and great niece, Lauren. Elsie cherished her family and the many friends who enriched her life.
“The Big Three” was the title awarded to Elsie and her lifelong friends Andrea (Leigh) Johnson and Gail (Fitzpatrick) Nielly. – loyal, loving and formidable together. Only Andrea remains as the senior chronicler of their shared history.
Elsie was known as gracious and giving, adventurous and fun loving. She worked hard and had many trips to Europe, Britain, across Canada and beyond. She enjoyed summers on Gabriola Island and relished weekends away with friends. Those who knew her will attest to her independence and tenacity as major contributors to her rich and full life.
Elsie supported many charities and organizations. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity or organization of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held on February 27, 2026. Service to be conducted at First Memorial Funeral Services and Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd. North Vancouver
