Shirley Ann Eady McMillan passed peacefully at Groves Park Lodge on June 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She has been reunited with her soulmate, Ernest.

Predeceased by her parents Ivan McMillan and Evelyn (Cotie), her sister Vivian Eady (Noble), brothers Basil and Harvey McMillan, and several in-laws. Shirley leaves behind her daughters Sonya van Beek (Edward) and Ruby Lynn Osipenko (Steve). She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Miranda Yackobeck (Austin), Clinton Yackobeck (Janice), Hannah Yackobeck (Cody), Danica, Kolton, and Kale Osipenko; and five great-grandchildren: Jace, Lucas, Amelia, Harper, and Clementine.

Shirley’s beloved sister Betty McMillan, along with her sister-in-laws Susan McMillan, Jean Gillan, and Irene Eady, and brother-in-law Brian Eady, will forever cherish her memory. She will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was passionate about life and loved participating in church activities. She was best known for her amazing baking skills and daily walks along River Road. Over the last few years, Shirley was cared for by the incredible staff at Groves Park Lodge, who she considered family.

To celebrate Shirley’s life, a BBQ will be held at 5580 River Road on Sunday, June 22, 2025, after 4:00 p.m. On Monday, June 23, 2025, a gathering will take place at North Horton Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. before a Celebration of Life service at the Little Brown Church, 5363 River Road, at 11:00 a.m.
