MCNALLY, Shirley J McNally

Passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025 at the LeRoy Village Green. She was born on May 22, 1928 in Batavia to the late Raymond and Jennie (Clark) Wood. In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband; Leo McNally; son Thomas McNally; brothers Paul, James and Edgar Wood; sister Barbara Spiers.

Shirley was proud of her years of employment as the Records Clerk for the City of Batavia Police Department. She was a talented seamstress and a great cook; her crumbly apple pies will be sorely missed. Shirley was also known to enjoy a good Manhattan.

She is survived by her beloved son; James McNally of Batavia, step son Michael (Michelle) McNally of Batavia; step daughter Maureen (late Frank) Glow of Batavia; sisters in law Joan Wood and Mickey Wood; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Shirley’s family would like to thank the staff at the Village Green Nursing Home for their compassion and amazing care they showed her during her time there.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday August 29th from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. A 1:00PM Service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home. Shirley will be laid to rest in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Corfu.
