MCQUADE, Donald “Don” McQuade
August 14, 1935 - March 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald “Don” McQuade on March 7, 2026, in his 90th year. A devoted husband, brother, Uncle, and friend, Don leaves behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, and 65 years of a beautiful, loving marriage.
Don was the beloved and devoted husband of Noreen McQuade, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was a true partnership, built on a foundation of love and shared adventure.
Born in Brockville to the late Jim and Brenda McQuade, Don remained close to his roots throughout his life. He was the dear brother of Ed McQuade (Peggy) and Patricia Turner (and her late husband, Dick).
He was a cherished brother-in-law to Roy Steinburg (Colleen) and Norma Steinburg (and her late husband, Harold). “Uncle Don” will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A dedicated professional, Don spent his career at Parke Davis (Trillium). Outside of work, he and Noreen were avid travelers, exploring the beauty of Hawaii, Europe, Myrtle Beach, British Columbia, East Coast and Nashville. Don also had a great passion for racing and never missed the excitement of the Daytona 500.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapels at Roselawn, 2451 County Rd 15, Maitland, ON on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM followed by a Masonic tribute service and a celebration of life at 2:00 PM in the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers and expressions of sympathy, donations in Don’s memory to the following organizations:
The Canadian Cancer Society, Brockville General Hospital (Palliative Care) and The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
A Special Note of Thanks:
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sherwood Park Manor. We are deeply moved by the care, compassion, and kindness shown to Don during his time there; your support meant the world to us.
