MCQUAID, Paul Gerald McQuaid
September 24, 1948 - February 8, 2026
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Gerald McQuaid on February 8, 2026, in Mississauga, Ontario, at the age of 77.
Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to his family. An entrepreneur at heart, he built a diverse and successful career over the years. His ventures included Don McQuaid’s delivery service, a fish and chips restaurant, owning the first video store in Mississauga (Innovative Video Centre or IVC), Worldwide Security Limited, real estate investments, and other business pursuits, including owning and operating the Promenade Court Apartments shop where he would meet his future wife. Through determination and vision, he created opportunities not only for himself but for those around him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Paul had a passion for travel. He was known for his private nature and dry sense of humor—often delivering a perfectly timed comment that left those around him smiling. Though he may not always have sought the spotlight, he was steadfast and dependable, always there when you needed him. Above all, he took pride in caring for and providing for his family.
Paul is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean Anne; his sons, Christopher, Michael, and Bradley; daughter-in-law Tina and his cherished grandchildren, Blaze, Logan, Tavin, Noah, and Luke. His legacy lives on through them and the many lives he touched through his work, friendship, and quiet generosity.
The family will be holding a celebration of Paul’s life once the warmer weather returns.
