MEDEIROS, Maria Luzia Carreiro Medeiros

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 81 years. Dearly beloved wife of José, married for 57 years. Loving mother of Roger (Lucy) and Veronica (Frank). Cherished grandmother of Brianna, Dezarea, Gabriella, Francine, LJ and Priscilla. Will be missed by all her brothers, sisters, family and friends.

Maria was born on June 5, 1944 in Feijāo de Cina, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She later immigrated to Canada in January 1987. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she loved to travel, crochet, cook and garden. Maria had an energetic, witty, sense of humour and loved to laugh. She was most known for her hospitality, devotion to God and possessing the ability to always see the good in everyone she met.

A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Steet West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J2L4. A funeral service will occur in the chapel on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J2L4. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery.
