MENDONCA, Marion Elizabeth Mendonca
June 29, 1961 - January 2, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Marion Elizabeth Mendonca, whose love and care shaped the lives of all who knew her. She was the heart of our family—a gentle, steady presence who gave endlessly of herself and asked little in return. Her home and heart were always filled with warmth, kindness, and an open door to anyone in need.
Elizabeth passed away peacefully on January 2nd, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her three children, Mandy (Renne), Nina (Ashley), Jay (Jessica), and nine grandchildren, Fayth, Paige, Marissa, Matteo, Kaylee, Myles, Kyson, Kenna, and Kelsie.
Elizabeth was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, on a beautiful sunny day to Creena (Spurrell) Grant and Thomas Benoit, and was lovingly raised by her devoted stepfather, Hughie Grant. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Patricia, Marie (George), John, and Marg (Butch); her sisters-in-law Filomena and Fatima (Vince); and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
Our mom had a remarkable way of making people feel seen and loved. Through her quiet strength, thoughtful advice, and unwavering support, she taught us the true meaning of compassion, resilience, and unconditional love. Her hugs brought comfort, her smile brought light, and her laughter brought joy that will forever echo in our hearts.
She found happiness in the simple moments—time spent with family, shared stories, and the joy of caring for others. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely.
Though our hearts ache with her loss, we are forever grateful for the years we shared and the lessons she taught us. Our mom was the heart and soul of our family—a constant source of love, wisdom, and encouragement. We will forever feel the warmth of her hugs, and her smile will remain a guiding light on our darkest days. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
